Just some random ramblings

*clears throat*

Well hello peepur. I know that it has been quite awhile since I last updated my dusty, lonely blog. But bare with me peepur, because you see, me is no longer a giddy school girl whose hobby was looking around for cute boys, but me is now a serious University student whose new hobby is looking around for handsome eligible bachelors to be made into teman hidup. Ahem.

Nang nang, baruk semester 1 ya
translation : memang memang, baru semester 1 tu

And so there are many perks of being a University student, I'm quite sure everyone is familiar with the saying.   Really, when I was still in form 5 I was always being fed with the sentiments like 'bila kat U tak boleh main-main, kena serius, bukan mcm SPM'. 'Bila kat U bukan mcm kat sekolah, kena pandai jaga masa'. 'Lecturer bukan mcm cikgu sekolah, lecturer bagi lecture pastu belajar sendiri' etc etc - sentiments that made you assumed that University was a serious business, a place where everyone was intellectual, where the word fun was defined not as what we understood it.

But really. It turns out that you can actually still be playful in Uni. There are times when you feel like laughing your lungs out with your newly-made friends, even though you have no idea on what you're laughing about, at times you still get excited when ice cream trucks pass by your college, you still have the traces of childish laziness when you wake up in the morning to attend the first class, you still complaint on how cold the water is, how the shower is too ruthless to your-semi-concious-self. You even giggle whenever a boy smiles at you. When you're lucky a boy will ask for your phone number through his friend. "Eh eh, kawan kamek mok number kitak boleh sik?". And then you start to reminisce the old school days. And you will have thoughts like, 'lol ingat kat sekolah je macam ni'. You are eighteen and you are currently in the highest academical institution, but hey, no one's stopping you from laughing, no one's forbidding you from giggling. No one gets mad when you still keep the urge to act childish. Admit it. We are physically University students, but truthfully, deep down inside we are all still school girls and school boys.

Of course University is a serious business, ahem, but hey that doesn't mean that you are going to graduate with your hair mostly has turned white with wrinkles around your eyes. Of course we need to study, to investigate more, to be a step ahead from our peers, to make research on our own, in fact we're doing almost everything on our own right now, but don't make those as the reasons why you turn cold and rigid. This is just another phase of life.

Whenever we're assigned with complicated tasks, it's easier for us to smile rather than frowning. Really. There's always the cool UiTM library to accompany your journey in getting good results. There's always your course mates to help you along the way. There's always your room mates to listen to your Semenanjung ramblings. There's always the Sarawakian lecturers whom you can refer to. There's always your best friend at home, always ready to hear your new stories from seberang. There's always your mum, tempat mengadu, melepaskan rindu.

Laugh, giggle, smile, eat, complaint playfully as much as you could. Berkawad lah sungguh-sungguh time Kesatria. Join the activities held. Be active, throw away your passiveness, this is a place where you make the best out of yourself, where you make memories, stories to be told to your children. Make the best out your current life. You don't want to be left behind. You don't want to be the uncool parents with no cool stories. You don't want to wake up feeling regret that you didn't live to the fullest when you turn 40 later.

UiTM di hati kamek :)

  1. First year is always good memories. But you'll learn better when you pursue ahead. Yes, you still can enjoy. But the chaos of study will overshadow the fun. Just rejoice the moment!
